Behind The Buds: Episode 6

Behind The Buds Is Back!

This month we are excited to feature our friend from the veg rooms, Edward.

Ed comes in to work everyday with a positive attitude and tackles work as a challenge instead of a chore. Changes in process are not seen as a hassle but an opportunity to improve the department. He will go out of his way to help co-workers to achieve goals more efficiently and other teams/departments in a pinch which has had a noticeable impact. His caring nature doesn’t shy away from helping others in need when emergency situations happen. You’ll always catch Ed with a smile on his face whistling to the plants.

- Riley Derbowka, Lead Grower (Veg Stage)

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH OGEN?

I started with OGEN on September 8th 2021.

HOW WAS YOUR FIRST EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH CANNABIS?

My first experience with cannabis was working here at OGEN. I started in trimming and then applied the Cultivation department. Before joining cultivation, I helped in the mother room a lot.

HOW DO YOU LIKE TO SPEND YOUR DAYS OFF?

My mind is always in Cannabis because I love my work but I do my best to relax with friends on days off. On any long weekends I go to Edmonton to see family, we are very family oriented.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY AT OGEN LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?

The first thing I do is check on the plants, take notes, and say hello. I like to see how they progress over time. After this I move on to any assigned tasks that include defoliation, transplants, or even hand feeds.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE STRAIN TO WORK WITH AT OGEN?

Lemon Z #42 – because the plants are very consistent. Stems are hearty and they are nice to defoliate!

IF YOU COULD CHOOSE ANY SUPERPOWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

I would become superman, because he does everything for the right reasons and for the sake of humanity.

At OGEN,  we are driven by our need for continual improvement and the passion we have for great bud!
